PROJECTS

Protea Institute’s projects are aligned to reduce the breast cancer mortality rate in Brazil by following two strategies: funding treatment and early detection of breast cancer.

The Protea Institute, through donations and partnerships with private philanthropic hospitals that serve SUS patients, helps pay for surgery, exams, consultations, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy for breast cancer.

Protea Institute contacted Tellus Institute to develop a network project to identify bottlenecks and propose solutions for the patient’s journey from suspected breast cancer to beginning treatment. This project has the financial and strategic support of Roche and the Avon Institute.

Projeto de pesquisa desenvolvido em conjunto com nosso parceiro Hospital Santa Marcelina de Itaquera e o MIT (Massachussets Institute of Technology) para aplicação de IA na detecção precoce do câncer de mama.

The excess of information and lack of guidance on breast cancer make life difficult for those dealing with the diagnosis, especially for low-income and less educated women.

Protea Journey empowers patients and relatives of people with breast cancer and aims to guide and direct them through practical and useful videos, with information, attention and care.
