The model was <strong>developed by M.I.T<\/strong> MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and is based on <em>Deep Learning<\/em>. <strong>Using a digital mammogram, the algorithm can estimate the probability of a woman developing breast cancer within five years<\/strong> of the date of the exam. This model has been tested in several countries around the world, and in 2021, it was validated in the Brazilian population, having been tested on approximately 25,000 exams from patients in the Hospital de Amor Screening Program. The accuracy rate was around 80%.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-617a027 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"617a027\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\" data-settings=\"{&quot;background_background&quot;:&quot;classic&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e1a9d65 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"e1a9d65\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7a5e18e e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-child\" data-id=\"7a5e18e\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\" data-settings=\"{&quot;background_background&quot;:&quot;classic&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e171bb9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e171bb9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In 2022, research on the clinical use of this <strong>Artificial Intelligence was implemented at Santa Marcelina Sa\u00fade, in Itaquera, S\u00e3o Paulo,<\/strong>a partner hospital of Protea since 2018. This research was submitted to and approved by the Hospital's Research Ethics Committee in accordance with medical research regulations in Brazil. Several steps taken in this research have brought benefits to the hospital and patients, even before its completion.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b56d72c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b56d72c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Starting in 2021, patients began to have their exams performed on a digital mammography machine donated by GE to the hospital, enabling all screening mammograms to be submitted to the <em>Artificial Intelligence algorithm<\/em>, forming the database necessary for analysis.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-82788ff elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"82788ff\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h6><strong>By December 2024, nearly 5,000 women who were asymptomatic for breast cancer had their exams submitted to the technology;<\/strong><\/h6><h6><strong>More than 700 patients with above-average risk began to be monitored and recalled for new exams;<\/strong><\/h6><h6><strong>More than 340 have already been reexamined<\/strong> and are being monitored by the Hospital team.<\/h6>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5da1e67 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5da1e67\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Also in 2023, <strong>Protea, together with Dhauz Consultoria, conducted a situational study of SUS<\/strong>, <strong>the personnel involved, and the population served<\/strong> was produced that <strong>data base<\/strong> that can be accessed through a Dashboard.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fab2628 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"fab2628\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d022e5e e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-child\" data-id=\"d022e5e\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\" data-settings=\"{&quot;background_background&quot;:&quot;classic&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3907ba0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3907ba0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The use of new technologies associated with breast cancer screening programs can benefit a significant number of women, and early diagnosis is key to reducing mortality.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Projeto IA Usando a Intelig\u00eancia Artificial no Diagn\u00f3stico Precoce do C\u00e2ncer de Mama.
